McIntosh 240 AMP Amplifier RCA Black Plate Tubes 6L6GC FOUR (quad) SET OF RCA BLACK PLATE POWER TUBES AND ORIGINAL BOXES. ALL WITH LIMITED USE IN MY McINTOSH MC240 AMPLIFIER. I REMOVED THIS SET FROM MY 240 BEFORE SELLING IT LAST MONTH. I PURCHASED THESE TUBES IN JUNE OF THIS YEAR JUST BEFORE SENDING MY 240 AMP TO TERRY DeWICK FOR A POWER SUPPLY UPGRADE, ALONG WITH THE ACCOMPANYING SET OF TUBES WHICH WERE TESTED IN MY AMP AFTER IT WAS UPGRADED. TUBES AND AMP WERE EXCEPTIONAL COMBINATION. AMP CAME TO ME BY WAY OF THE ORIGINAL OWNER WITH A SET OF VINTAGE PHILLIPS TUBES. AFTER RESEARCHING AND READING MUCH ABOUT THE RCA BLACK PLATE TUBES I PURCHASED THIS SET. A SOUND, AND RATHER EXPENSIVE INVESTMENT, BUT WELL WORTH IT, AND THE REASON I KEPT THE SET FOLLOWING THE SALE OF MY AMP. WHEN PURCHASED, THEY WERE TAUTED AS NOS WITH VERY FEW HOURS, TESTING AS NEW, AND HAVING A GREAT SOUND STAGE. ALL THIS I FOUND TO BE ACCURATE. I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE EXPANSIVE SOUND. TO ME, THEY PRODUCED A SOUND THAT LITERALLY WAS AS CLOSE TO BEING AT A LIVE PERFORMANCE AS ONE GETS. VERY GOOD BASS, AND VOCALS ARE AMAZING. ALL TUBES HAVE A GENTLY USED APPEARANCE. IN OTHER WORDS, AESTHETICALLY EXCELLENT WITH SIGNS OF GENTLE USAGE. MOSTLY ON THE BASES OF TWO TUBES HAVING A FEW INDISCREET RUBS. THE LETTERING ON ALL BASES IS VERY GOOD. MARKED AS FOLLOWS: RCA ELECTRON TUBE MADE IN U.S.A. EACH CODED AS FOLLOWS: BJ, CG, AU, 61-35. ALL WITH SIDE HALOS AND GETTERS. EACH BOX IS MARKED WITH A PIECE OF MASKING TAPE AND A NUMBER 110. I THINK YOU WILL BE QUITE PLEASED WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TUBES IN YOUR STEREO TUBE AMP OR VINTAGE GUITAR AMP.
